WORK BEHAVIOUR

Robin was young and confident of himself and his professional abilities. he was rather impatient too and felt that most others were not smartly and quickly. he hated anybody doing the thing slowly and giving sluggish responses. After all he was a MBA graduate from reputed B-School plus an MS from American university.he always on the move and hated those who refuse to move or thought twice or thrice before any move.
when robin joined FMCG company he was all eager to explode into great action on his very first job. however, in his office, things tended to move slowly though not sluggishly Bosses-two brothers took forever to make a decision and move accordingly. They were real master in the field- very successful and highly respected. so much so that even competitors consulted them when there was a logjam in their business.
For robin however the company was a dull place refusing to move fast. His bosses recognized his talent and gave him big assignment that challenged his abilities. In less than a year was made head of division and lot of freedom to act like an almost independent entrepreneur. yet for robin company was not at smart place.
when he was given the charge of division head the boss told him - come on robin now move fast. Do things your way. Make your decision and move. don't wait for our clearance for any project. you have our support. In just few months almost everybody started complaining to the bosses about the things going too fast. so one day the bosses called robin in the conference hall. They appreciated robin calibre but wondered how he could hold things together in such a fashion as colleagues beyond words. the robin realized that he too felt quite tired and irritable. The pace he set for division was hurting him but he couldn't speak up or retract.

jaggnath the elder of two brother smiled and said softly. Robin there nothing wrong in admitting to the mistake we do. after all we are a family here and you can always go back to your team and confess. They will understand you. Then in consultation with them you can rearrange things . Do that and you will realize what difference is. And by the way we do not move unnecessarily slowly, we plan our moves in such a manner as to give the impression of being slow. But actually faster than what market does.And so our company is so successful for decades. understand this & then plan your moves. best of luck.

Robin took message in the right spirit . He sat down with his team made a serious attempt to rectify things. The most important lesson he learned was that in an organization one man cannot and should not impose his speed upon others.



Like robin they also wants the thing to move according to their own wish. They donot realize that unnatural ways do not take a company long distance. On more personal level, robin realised that the pace he had set for the division was making him too irritable and tired. The moment he downscaled the speed operations, he also started having better peace of mind.
