TRAVAILS OF TAGORE-ARTICLE 07-01-12

Strange are indeed(confirm) the ways of this world. In this new biography " Rabindranath Tagore an interpretation" by prof. sabhyasachi Bhattacharya. It is revealed that nobel Luureate Rabindranath Tagore led a lonely life and suffered from frequent bouts of depression, shocking revelation. He was deprived of parental love even in his childhood. After the sad demise of his benevolent mother, he was left at the mercy of the servant of the household. Beside he was virtually neglected by his father who had no time to communicate with him. The negligence applied salt to the injuries, giving rise to turmoil(disturbance) & conflict in his inner life. when a child is born in an aristocratic family, he/she is usually deprived of love and affection of his parents. That's the price the child has to pay for taking birth in an aristocratic family without his consent. it is an open secret that servant can never take the place of parents. No wonders, the child suffered from the pag of parents. No wonder the child suffered from the pags of loneliness during his childhood. it is an open secret that the colour of blood from the ancestors waded(to complete with hard work) to glamor & Gardner . it is below their dignity to raise their children by paying personal attention to them.

Even as young man, Rabindranath tagore suffered from the onslaught(to be attack)of loneliness while staying on his boat on the river by the sand flats in the company of servant and boatmen. while occupying the chair in the boat, he was entrusted(in charged) with responsibility of supervisory the rich family estate. He was feeling like a fish without water while staying in the boat. He wings well were clipped.

And then how was his life in old age? fall of depression and disappear. hE suffered from mental agony because of the part-ion of bengal. The nationalist leader in his anti partition agitation(in hurry,to movement) never supported him. His loneliness is reflected in his song " Ekla chalo re" walk alone " Ai mere dil kahin aur chal gham ki duniya se dil bhar gaya, doond le abkoi ghar naya. chal jahan gham ke maare na ho, in baharon se kya faida, jisme di ki kali jal jayegi zakhm phir se hara ho gaya.

Rabindranth was always in search of home sweet home.But Alas he failed in his effort to turn his dream into reality. He was educated at home and although at seventeen he was sent to england for formal schooling he did not finish his studies there. In this mature years in addition to his many sided literary activities, he manage his family estate, a project which brought him into close touch with common huminity and increased his inherent in school reform. He also started an experimental school a shantiniketan after he tried his auphold the vedic idea of education.
